A lot of people have been testing the Google’s pay per click advertising system for quite a while now, since every one has the success to its tools. These people have proven the effectiveness of this tool; that is why these 12 simple tips will allow you create yours ads effectively and to generate a higher click through rates than other pay per click services, and at the same time lowering your cost per click.

  1. Target The Right Audience – By targeting the right audience, you need to select the right language and countries that you want to target.
  2. Refine Your Keywords – You should use square brackets “[...]” around your keyword/s. Your ads will only be shown when the searcher is looking for the exact keyword phrase that you have included within your brackets.
  3. Test Multiple Ads Simultaneously – You should always test 2 preferably more ads simultaneously. This is known in the print industry as an A/B split test. You need to find out which of the keywords that you have will produce the higher click through ratio. Then simply replace the weaker performing keyword and ad with a new one.
  4. Track The Return-On-Investment Of Each Ad – Google can track the click through ratio of every ad that you have. However, it cannot track the conversion ratio. You can use a special tracking link in every ad that you have to track down its conversion ratio.
  5. Include Targeted Keywords in Your Ad – You can include the targeted keywords in your headline and in the description of your ad. Google will then highlight the searched keywords in bold in your ad.
  6. Sell The Benefits – You need to spell out at least one or more major benefit in your ad. This will attract visitors to your site.
  7. Include Attention Grabbing Words In Your Ad – You can start your headline using an attention grabbing word. Like, “Free: New: Sale: etc.”, but make sure that you stay within Google’s editorial guidelines.
  8. Use Words That Provoke Emotion & Enthusiasm – You can use power words or call-to-action phrases that can provoke the emotion, enthusiasm and the response of the searcher.
  9. Sell Your USP or Unique Selling Proposition – Tell the searchers of what makes your product or service better than others, or different, from the rest of competition? Spell them out in your ad to attract them further.
  10. Link To Relevant Landing Pages – If your ad is for a specific product, service or market, you must create a landing page for the ad. But, you need to include relevant and useful information for you to be able to convert the customer in buying in your website.
  11. Remove Common Words – You should remove any common words, such as “a, an, in, on, it, of, etc.” Remove the word that doesn’t need to be in the ad. You should make every word in your ad count.
  12. Deter Freebie Hunters – You should deter the freebie hunters by including the price of the product or service at the end of your ads. This will actually improve the overall conversion ratio and it will lower your average customer acquisition cost for your ad.
